A new airport for Heraklion is planned
Greek Law 4612/2019 ratified the concession to design, build, finance and operate a New International Airport of Heraklion Crete. The civil aviation authority gives no opening date, so for now flights and car pick-ups are at Nikos Kazantzakis airport.
