22 bays in the city centre and 10 in Øgadekvarteret are reserved on weekdays 07:00-16:00 for commercial vehicles with yellow number plates; cars with white plates may not use them then. From 16:00 to 07:00 anyone may park there as signed.

The city centre is an environmental zone
Central Aalborg (midtby) is a miljøzone with special requirements for diesel vehicles, including older diesel cars, which need an approved particle filter to drive there. Exemptions are handled by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

Limfjord crossing: tunnel or bridge
Vesterbro and Strandvejen from Vestbyen to the Limfjord Bridge (Limfjordsbroen) are transit routes open to all vehicles through the environmental zone, so traffic can cross by the bridge if the Limfjord Tunnel is closed.
